I have some good news for clients who own Cube Cart stores over the next 7 days I will add a CAPTCHA to upgrade and secure the mail form on the contact page that will stop spam bots sending medz spam via the mail forms in the future, I apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Web Design–Hosting | Domain And Site Transfer
The domain name and web site fashionablemaven which was launched recently on the 20th May was successfully transfered to its new hosting package here at Source Host on Thursday and Friday this week, the site was migrated into a Joomla! content management package ready for the future as the site grows and also to allow the owner to add articles and update the site as well.

Web Hosting | System Status
Due to the massive DDos (Distributed Denial of service) attack last Thursday and Friday and the consequent actions taken to defend against the attack may have caused this site to have become unavailable during this time and over the weekend.

The system status page is now located in an off–site location in order make the system more robust and to ensure that the information about the system status is always available even if this site and the customer control panel become unaccessible for some reason such as the recent DDos attack, plus there is also a link to the system status page in the Client Zone on my web design site as well to make sure it is always accessible, it wouldn’t hurt to add it to your browsers favourits and make it easy to find and check the system status page in the future if you experience any problems.

I apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

It appears that the email connectivity problem has not been resolved and the system status page at 123–reg which was updated on (24 June 2010, 09:27) states that their engineers are working to resolve the problem and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Web Design | Email Connectivity Problems
Clients may currently be experiencing difficulties connecting to their email accounts, this will include mail clients such as Outlook Express, Outlook, webmail and scripts on their websites which send email. The 123–reg and SupaNames support engineers are working to resolve the problem and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. The issue was first reported at 11:38am, so if you have had a problem your not alone, my email client suddenly started playing games a couple of times this afternoon, but everything sems OK now (17:50pm).

UPDATE:
The latest update (14;50pm) is that the engineers are currently still investigating this issue and they are working towards a fix and so the service may be intermittant at times over the next few hours.

Web Design | Cube Cart Stores Patched
An SQL injection vulnerability in all current versions of CubeCart 4 has been discovered. The issue concerns a possible SQL injection vulnerability on the shipping method selection drop down box during the checkout process. All web design clients Cube Cart stores were patched on the 04/06/2010

My web design site www.syntaxsandbox.co.uk is offline this is now the second time the site has been offline this month, unfortunately this is beyond my control at the moment but I will be moving the site in the very near future. Web Design | Mail Forms Upgrade
All mail forms on clients web sites have been upgraded and secured with CAPTCHA application that requires users to enter a (pseudo) random number if they enter the correct number the form will then submitted and their email message sent, only humans can see the number, this means that in the future you not recieve any more emails from your mail form full of random characters and links to medz web sites selling what are probably illegal or fake drugs, the CAPTCHA will stop spam bots dead in their tracks, they can fill out the form but they just can’ make is send a an email. Also spam bots cannot bypass the mail form and call the form script directly either.

Site Update
I have finished adding all of the information about each of the hosting packages on offer both Linux and Windows packages, specifications and prices starting at 29.88 per year for the Home Starter hosting package as well as the prices for domain name registration starting at £3.99 per year for .co.uk domain names and the store is now online and ready for new customers.

The Friends of Fleetwood Trams web site is now completed and online and available to the public hopefully people will start to find the site and start making donations and help to save all the beautiful vintage trams from the scrap heap. www.fleetwoodtrams.co.uk
